While interest rates have recently gone up lumber prices have gone down. This could save you several thousands of dollars on construction cost depending on what you are building. This can help offset the interest rate increase.

According to the forecast on the Houston market there is a shortage of homes for sale and is expected to continue. This is due in part by the New Exxon Facility, the growth of Anadarko and the New Amusement Park. This means the value of homes are going up so it is a seller's market but labor and material prices have not peeked yet.
