We are so glad we found Owner Builder Network! When we met with OBN for an initial consultation, we were looking for options to use instead of going the route of using a traditional builder. It was very important to us to build the most energy efficient home we could afford. As we were exploring our options, we quickly realized that our energy upgrades would not necessarily increase our appraised value, they were very important to us and we could not afford them and the large project management fees that builders were quoting us. Project Management. That is the key term! Building a home is not hammering nails and pulling wire. It's Project Management. Kelley was skeptical at first, but after meeting with OBN, she was convinced we could do it! That's the only green light I needed! I knew this process would be perfect for me. Even after fighting through the permitting process, only to have our framing schedule land during our planned vacation and at the end of the project, I had to fight through a back surgery - we would do it all again!! We are so happy with our home! From our custom kitchen with quartz and butcherblock countertops with a floating island to our custom dog wash area to Kelley's craft room, to our pass-through master/laundry room cabinets, to our mechanical closet...and the list could go on and on! This home has all of our special touches and so much more than we could ever have put into it going the traditional builder route! Owner Builder Network supported us through the process with great information, advice, guidance, finance help (that allowed us to carry the checkbook and control our money), subcontractors that did high quality work for us, and quality control guidance that ensured we were getting a quality built home!!
